The Mission of ABCD is to provide life changing diabetic supplies and enriched life experiences to families lacking adequate financial resources. Through the generosity of our donors we can ''Bridge the Financial Gap'' to provide a fun and improved quality of life for children and young adults living with diabetes.
Did you know that as many as three million Americans may have type 1 diabetes? Each year, more than 15,000 children are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the U.S., and the rate of type 1 diabetes incidence among children under the age of 14 is estimated to increase by 3% annually worldwide. [as reported by www.jdrf.org]
If you or someone you know between the ages of 0-24 is struggling financially and has to purchase diabetic supplies out-of-pocket, please submit a request for FREE supplies using our Supply Request Form on www.abcdiabetics.org.
On a greater scale, the foundation hopes to eventually provide diabetic camp sponsorships, pumps, pens and new technology that might not be supplied or covered by insurance. The initial goals for ABCD are to provide, through donations, typical supplies for daily life to struggling families who have children with type 1 diabetes. The foundation plans to provide essentials such as testing equipment, test strips, educational materials and more.
Please contact us if you are interested in applying for assistance with supplies for a diabetic child or if you are interested in getting involved with ABCD.
